Kahai Street Kitchen opened its doors in the summer of 2006, originally beginning as a catering services company on Kalihi Street. Our initial focus was on weddings, corporate engagements, and other private events. As of 2025, we proudly celebrate 19 years of dedicated service.
We received numerous suggestions praising our food and encouraging us to offer plate lunches. A few months later, during the summer of 2006, our Honolulu restaurant began serving gourmet plate lunches, and we haven't looked back since.
In 2016, we relocated to our current spot at 946 Coolidge Street, right across from Mo'ili'ili Neighborhood Park, just after First Hawaiian Bank and a few blocks before University Avenue. This location features a small parking lot and street parking, allowing us to efficiently manage the growing volume of our plate lunch and catering operations.
